We received the honour of Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence (2016/2017) in “Science Education Key Learning Area”. To improve learning effectiveness through the enhancement of students' self-learning skills is our school major concern. Apart from the implementation of e-learning, we also create student learning communities and equip students with learning strategies. Our teachers are responsive, hardworking, dedicated and innovative. Significant enhancement in the professional qualification of teachers can be seen. The professional development and mentorship schemes of our school encourage peer lesson observation, collaborative lesson preparation, lesson study and other informal sharing among our teachers. To cater for students' diverse learning needs, we adjust the curriculum according to students' individual differences.
To foster self-management and learning abilities in students, we train them with 9 Key Learning Habits (KLHs) for efficient learning. Decorating our campus with English signs & quotes and increasing the proportion of English elements in school activities are our key steps to provide an enriched English learning environment. Apart from English subject, Math subject and Science subjects also get involved in promoting English teaching and learning. These subjects collaborate and use common teaching strategies for enhancing students' learning in and through English.
Cross-curricular integration is implemented to reduce overlapping content and make good use of the teaching resources. The junior secondary subject, Citizenship, Economics and Society, aims at helping students to develop a positive understanding of oneself and to become informed and responsible citizens.
Our school is also devoted to promoting STEAM education so as to help students develop a solid knowledge foundation and enhance their interests in Science, Technology and Mathematics, to strengthen their ability to integrate and apply knowledge and skills to solve authentic problems, as well as to foster innovation and design thinking skills as required in the 21st century.

The Parent-Teacher Association was established in 1999 and has been dedicated to implementing the concept of home-school collaboration over the years. The school values parental involvement and regularly organizes Parents’ Night and Parents’ Day to enhance communication between the school and parents.

Additionally, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) organizes various activities, such as parent workshops, parent fellowships, PTA picnic, and tea gatherings for parents. Moreover, the PTA actively assists in organizing events and participating in volunteer services, including second-hand book sales, “Parents-Also-Appreciate-Teachers” Drive, flower sales for charity, and visiting students in impoverished mountain regions. Parents' active participation contributes to the school's development and fosters continuous improvement.

Our school is committed to establishing an inclusive and caring campus. The Whole School Approach is adopted to support the students with special educational needs. The Student Support Team of our school is composed of the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), teachers from Discipline and Counselling Teams, a social worker and an educational psychologist. Our school has utilized the Learning Support Grant to hire additional staff and procure professional services such as speech therapy services and tutoring services. Our school also places great emphasis on home-school cooperation. Teachers are involved in communicating with parents of students with special educational needs on a regular basis.

Apart from fostering curriculum development and the enhancement & remedial work at different learning stages, we also cater for student diversity by collaborative teaching and varying instructional grouping, especially in English, Mathematics and Integrated Science lessons. Besides, the adaptation of the curriculum, the design of classroom activities and the arrangement of extended learning activities as well as the peer learning groups after class are the measures to meet students' needs.

We conduct self-evaluation and validate the findings through external reviews. The process turns our teachers into reflective practitioners who can see their own strengths and weaknesses. Our teachers are keen to upgrade themselves through continuing professional development. As our school has become a learning community, there is momentum for sustainable development and continuing improvement.
In order to enhance teaching and learning effectiveness and strengthen teachers’ professional capacity, we participated in the Quality School Improvement Project (QSIP) established by the Hong Kong Institute of Educational Research (HKIER) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) since 2019, in which teachers were equipped with the skills of collaborative lesson planning, lesson observation and self-improved mechanism. We had a team of senior teachers to conduct "Open Lessons" last year. All teachers were welcomed to observe the lessons.
Lesson study is promoted in all subjects in recent years. Teachers will collaborate on designing and revising the lesson plan. A post-lesson conference will be held as it is a valuable opportunity for teachers and observers to share good teaching strategies and practices, and refine the lesson plan for better learning outcomes.

Our school strives to promote environmental education. In order to raise the awareness of environmental protection among students, our school has organised various activities by which students have become more concerned about the well-being of the globe. The effort and achievements of our school are acknowledged. Owing to our contribution, we have won School Honours Award under Schools Environmental Award Scheme for 5 consecutive years, Community Project Award and Devotion of Promotion of Sustainable Development Honours Award (in recognition of receiving the SD Community Project Award for nine consecutive years) of the Sustainable Development School Award Programme, and also the Bronze Award in the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (Schools: Secondary).
